Sylvain Thériault, Captain
Captain Sylvain Thériault is a Training Officer at the GTAA FESTI. Capt. Thériault is a native of Montréal Quebec, who started his career with the Canadian Armed Forces in 1985. Throughout his career with the DND Fire Service, he developed from a Recruit firefighter to the Platoon Chief level. Eventually becoming an instructor at the Canadian Forces Fire Academy in Borden. Capt Thériault has skills in emergency fire fighting procedures including: Structural Fires, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, Automobile fires and Casualty Extrication Ops, Confined Spaces rescue, machinery rescue, collapse building and trench rescue, Special Problem Fires, Shipboard Fire Fighting, Hazardous Material incidents, Classroom Instruction, Fire Inspections, Fire Investigation, Medical Ops, Training Ops and is a Fire Service Instructor of all previous listed courses. After 21.5 years service with the DND, Captain Thériault accepted the position of Fire Service Instructor at the GTAA FESTI in December 2006.
