Steve Hall, Captain

 

Captain Steve Hall is a Training Officer at the GTAA ES. Capt. Hall is a native of Oakville Ontario, who started his career with the Canadian Armed Forces in 1985.Captain Hall Transferred from the combat Arms in 1993 to become a Firefighter.  Throughout his career with the DND Fire Service, he developed from a Recruit firefighter to the Platoon Chief level.

Capt Hall has skills in emergency fire fighting procedures including: Structural Fires, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, Automobile fires and Casualty Extrication Ops, Confined Spaces, Special Problem Fires, Shipboard Fire Fighting, Hazardous Material incidents, Classroom Instruction, Fire Inspections, Fire Investigation, Medical Ops, Training Ops and is a Fire Service Instructor of all previous listed courses. Captain Hall is a graduate of Dalhousie University in Fire Service Administration and Fire Service Leadership. After 21 years service with the DND, Captain Hall accepted the position of Fire Service Instructor at the GTAA ES in December 2006.

Certified by International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), Oklahoma State
University for the following National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards:

  • NFPA STD 472    Hazardous Materials Incidents Responder at: Awareness, Operator    and Technician Level
  • NFPA STD 1001  Fire Fighter Level I, II
  • NFPA STD  1041 Fire Service instructor

  • NFPA STD 1002  Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator
  • NFPA STD 1003  Airport Fire Fighter
  • NFPA STD 1006  Rescue Tech Confined Space
  • NFPA STD 1021  Fire Officer Level I,II
  • NFPA STD 1031  Fire Inspector Level I, II, III
